Courtesy/SFASSFAS News:The Santa Fe Animal Shelter continues to assist anyone who the fires have impacted in northern New Mexico, including the housing of displaced animals, food and other supplies. The shelter is at maximum capacity; however, shelter officials have transferred some of their anima stanley cup usa ls to Best Friends in Utah, making room for animals that have been evacuated due to the fires. Tuesday, shelter officials brought in almost two dozen dogs being housed at a temporary location at the Santa Fe Fairgrounds.In addition, the shelter is working with Animal Humane in Albuquerque to transfer some cats there to allow additional temporary housing for owned cats in the communities affected by the fires.The shelter is offering dog and cat food, cat litter, and cat kennels to transport animals, all available dog kennels have already been distributed to those in need of one. According to Murad Kirdar, spokesperson for the shelter, the entire shelter is at maximum capacity and they hope that more kennels will become available for more space during the Empty the Shelter event now underway.The Empty the Shelter event, sponsored by Bissell, has all adoptions for all animals at no fee.
